Evgenij Kozlov's collection "2 x 3 m."

The history of the unique collection began with Oleg Kotelnikov`s "Still life at + 90" from 1990. Back then, Evgenij Kozlov invited the best known St. Petersburg artists to his studio, provided each with paint and a two by three meter large canvas and challenged them to create a work at that unusually grand scale. Today the names of the artists included in the ever growing "2 x 3m" collection read like a "Who is Who" of the Petersburg art-scene. Evgenij Kozlov hopes that works from all over Russia will soon be incorporated into the collection, which might one day become the foundation of a Museum of Russian art in Berlin, devoted to exhibiting Russia`s newest artistic trends.
