| The 16 miniatures capture moments from that sphere of the human soul which does not obey individual desire, but which arises through interactions with the universal soul - paradise - and thus binds everyone.
The interactions happen between different forces or forms, symbolized through cipher-like, ideal figures - Woman and Man above all, but also others, such as Sun, City, Column, Planet, and Angel. One can trace their origins in Evgenij Kozlov's work back to the mid- 1980s. The artist's central question is: How would a person perceive these relations if the earth was a radically foreign place for his person? Evgenij Kozlov strives for the symbolic representation of the actual dynamics of the soul - as they are seen from outside the everyday realm. Hannelore Fobo, 1995 |
