The black shorts display a geometrical variant of the Soviet hammer and sickle emblem, paying tribute to the Russian avangarde of the twenties. The airplane on the right represents the national hero, the aircraft pilot; airplanes play a major role in works of the Leningrad avantgarde of the eighties.
